Small Ships Prepare to Resume Cruising This Summer - Conde Nast Traveler
From Susan B Barnes, Contributor to Conde Nast Traveler:
Good news for travelers who are ready to set sail for their summer vacations: There is a small pocket of the cruise industry that can sail again—and they're getting ready to return to the waters.
While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a No Sail Order in mid-March that halted the sailing of cruise ships, the order applied to ships carrying 250 or more passengers and crew. Smaller vessels, however—especially those built for river and expedition cruising—are exempt, and after taking a break in operations to evaluate new health and safety protocols, they're picking up passengers once again.
