Cruising 2021: Is it Safe to Cruise Again? Here's What You Need to Know | Traveling Mom

After a 15-month hiatus, cruising is back. Celebrity Edge set sail from Fort Lauderdale in late June, marking the return of cruising in 2021 from U.S. homeports.

The ship is sailing at a little over 36 percent capacity, carrying around 1,100 passengers. According to Cruise Critic, all crew is vaccinated, as well as all passengers, except two adults and 24 children. Celebrity Edge will visit three ports during its week-long sailing: Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico, and Nassau in the Bahamas.

More good cruise news: several major cruise lines are preparing for summer cruising, including Alaska sailings starting in July.
